Clubhouse Executive Board Room
Rainbow Bend HOA Board of Directors approved at the HOA Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 a study of Northern House Wrens Birds as presented by Ava Ciaccia, Biological Technician Lab, University of Nevada Reno.
Researchers from the Ouyang Lab at UNR will be studying Northern House Wrens (Troglodytes Aedon) this spring and summer on trees growing along the Truckee River by Avenue de la Couleurs. By installing and monitoring red cedar nest boxes, the researchers hope to determine which nutrients limit breeding success in urban-nesting birds. You can expect to see a rotating team of field biologists checking the nest boxes almost every day from late April until early August. The researchers humbly ask that you damper your curiosity and avoid touching or looking inside of the nest boxes, as the researchers “bother them enough” in the course of their own experiments.
At the HOA Board of Directors Meeting on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the HOA Board announced that the Clubhouse Rainbow Room is now open 24/7. Homeowners, thank you for your patience , as all security measures and updates have been made.
At the HOA Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 the HOA Board approved a revision to the Committee Charters for the policy resolution and rescinded the prior resolution. In order for a person to be on a Rainbow Bend Homeowner Association Committee, he / she must be a homeowner in the Rainbow Bend Community. Terri Kenyon, Community Manager will be mailing out copies of the Committee Charters to homeowners in the month of April, 2025.
NV ENERGY CONVERSION PROJECT
NV Energy has completed the conversion from propane to natural gas in all homes in the Lockwood Community.
BRYCON
Brycon has completed the installation of the water heaters & stoves. They have installed the new furnaces and air conditioners to most of the homes. Due to the delays from the manufacturers on receiving the furnaces and air conditioners for the modular homes, not all modular homes have been completed.
Once they receive the next shipment from the manufacturer, Brycon will be scheduling appointments with the homeowner to install your new furnace and air conditioner. Homeowners who have had their air conditioner installed, Brycon air conditioner installers are now contacting homeowners to schedule to have the electrical portion to the air conditioner unit installed. If you have questions, please contact Brycon, Senior Superintendent - Bill Heckman at (775) 250-3792.

Spam Emails
In the Rainbow Bend Lockwood Community, people are receiving SPAM EMAILS from a Board Member(s). In the email they are asking to send money, make a purchase, etc. A BOARD MEMBER WOULD NEVER MAKE A REQUEST BY EMAIL TO A HOMEOWNER. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL. REPORT this email to the FTC - by going to their Website www.FTC.gov. Locate on the page where you can report the SPAM email. Add the spam email address and answer the questions. The FTC will investigate.
Horses - The horses are managed and controlled by The Wild Horse Connection (WHC). The WHC is a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to keep the Wild Horses of the Virginia Range Free, educating the Community about living with our Mustangs and Rescuing those that have to be removed from the range.
It is important to know that it is illegal to feed wild horses in Nevada.
Because of a cooperative agreement with the Nevada Department of Agriculture, one of the most important things Wild Horse Connection does is diversionary feeding. WHC has NDA-approved diversionary feeding sites that are used to divert horses from roadways and neighborhoods. So, you can rest assured that the horses are being cared for. Horses follow patterns. If you feed illegally in your yard, then the horses learn to come there for food. This is dangerous for you and the horses. The goal of WHC is to feed in the hills in approved areas to teach the horses to stay up where they belong and not come into your yard or onto our streets. Follow the laws, and leave the management of the horses to WHC so we can keep the horses where they belong. If you see anyone feeding or harassing the horses, please contact the Wild Horse Connection Hotline at 775-352-3944 or go to the website www.wildhorseconnection.org for more information.
CGID is responsible for cleaning up the horse manure on our streets. Please let them know about your concerns.
